Full Terms and Conditions Round The World Competition
This Promotion is open to those who are aged 18 or over. So that we are completely fair, anyone connected to Star Alliance employees, Star Alliance member carriers’ employees, Atomic London employees, Nagarro employees, Splendid employees or their immediate family members are not allowed to enter.
You must ensure that your participation (including the acceptance of any prize awarded) is lawful in accordance with the laws of the country of which you are a resident.
You don’t have to buy anything to take part in this Promotion, but you need to access the internet..
Promotion Period:
You can enter between 00.01 CEST on 1st September 2016 until 23.59 CEST on 30th September 2016.
To Enter:
Visit www.staralliance.com/whereintheworld and enter the “Guess the Location” competition.
7 bloggers have travelled the globe and you will need to guess the respective location as shown on the bloggers’ photos. Entrants can visit the individual blogger’s site for hints on the location depicted on the photos.
Select your answers in the entry form and include your full name and email address
You will need to get all 7 locations correct to be entered into the Prize Draw.
Sorry, but you may only enter once, per email address, during the Promotion Period. A maximum of one prize can be won.
The Prize:
One winner will win 2x Star Alliance Round the World Business Class tickets (as per the Fare rules found in: http://www.staralliance.com/en/round-the-world?view=tc)
Further Prize Details and Conditions:
The Prize is for tickets only;
Airline seats are subject to availability;
The Prize must be confirmed and the itinerary chosen by 31st December 2016, subsequently booked by Star Alliance and taken by the winner by 31st December 2017.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, once issued they are only valid for flights, dates and times shown;
The 2 tickets will be booked by Star Alliance for the winners for 2 people for the same chosen itinerary, not booked individually;
If a booking is cancelled by the winner, no alternative tickets will be issued and for the avoidance of doubt, no compensation and/or refund will be provided;
The winners will require a passport valid for at least 6 months on date of travel; any necessary visas or travel insurance are the responsibility of the winners;
The Prize does not include: transfers, accommodation, food, beverages, souvenirs, gratuities, car parking charges, excursions and attractions or any other costs of a personal nature that are not explicitly set out in these terms and conditions (including spending money) and neither we nor any provider of any part of the Prize will be responsible for any such costs;
Any costs or expenses not expressly included in the Prize (including spending money) are the responsibility of the winners;
Winners are responsible for the behaviour of themselves whilst travelling round the world and during any activity related to this Promotion. We reserve the right in its absolute discretion to exclude a winner from participation in the Prize if they fail to comply with the directions of any companies associated with the Prize or the winners act in a manner that is dangerous to themselves or to the public or is, in our opinion, anti-social in any manner or which causes a disturbance or nuisance to others;
It is the responsibility of the winner to check any travel advisories issued by a Government, to determine whether they wish to accept the risk of travelling to the destination. We will not be responsible for any loss or damage suffered by any Winner arising out of their failure to follow any travel advisories issued by a Government. The winner must comply with and are responsible for obtaining any inoculation and health regulations required by any Prize destination country.
Winner Selection:
The winner will be selected fairly from all the valid entries (who have answered all 7 locations correctly) we receive. The random draw will be carried out by an independent promotional verification service and will take place within 7 days of the end of the Promotion Period.
Contacting the Winners:
We’ll contact the winner via the email address provided on entry within 5 working days of the end of the draw. The winner must then respond to us within 7 days to confirm eligibility and acceptance of the Prize, otherwise the prize will be awarded to a reserve winner.
If you are the winner, we’ll try and contact you to confirm your Prize within no more than 28 days from acceptance of the prize.
Moderation:
We can’t accept any entries which we think:
Contain any content that is likely to be considered offensive by us or could reflect negatively the name, reputation, or goodwill of Star Alliance or any brand partner;
Include trademarks, logos, or copyrighted material not owned by you or used without the right holder's prior written permission (including famous names, company names, etc.);
Defames, misrepresents, or insult other people or companies, including, but not limited to Star Alliance (including its partners); and
Promotes any political agenda.
We’re sorry but you can’t transfer a prize to someone else, once booking has been confirmed and the names of the travellers have submitted, or exchange it for something else or a cash alternative.
If, for reasons we can’t control, the Prize is no longer available, we’ll offer you an alternative prize of equal or greater value.
Data Privacy:
Your personal data will be held in accordance with our Privacy Policy that is available in the section "Privacy Policy" of this page and will only be used for the purposes of this Promotion.
We believe in fair play. Bulk entries made from trade, consumer groups, syndicates or third parties will not be accepted and we will not accept cheating in any form including the use of macros or other automated means of entry, masking your identity by manipulating IP addresses, using identities other than your own and any other behaviour that falls outside the spirit of the Promotion. If you’re found to be cheating you will be excluded.
Unfortunately, if you suffer any loss or damage that arises out of or in connection with the Promotion or prize itself (whether in contract, tort (including (without limitation) negligence), statutory duty or otherwise) Star Alliance won’t be liable for this.
If this Promotion can’t run properly because of fraud, tampering, technical errors or anything else that is beyond our control which affects the running, administration, security or fairness of this promotion, we reserve the right to disqualify any person involved. We will also have the right to cancel, modify or suspend the Promotion.
By entering you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms and conditions.
If someone or something tampers with this Promotion in some way whether by fraud, technical failures, system errors or other issues, including any such failure which is within the control of Star Alliance or its agencies, Star Alliance and its agencies will not be responsible for the promotion, prize or for the non-inclusion of entries. Proof of submission of entry is not proof of receipt of entry.
In the event of any dispute our decision is final.
The winners will be required to participate in any reasonable publicity arising from the Promotion.
If you are a winner of the Promotion, you agree that the Star Alliance may use your full name, image and region to announce the winners of this Promotion and for any other reasonable and related promotional purposes including Star Alliance social channels.
The winners of the draw will be published on www.staralliance.com/whereintheworld on 31st October 2016 for a minimum of two weeks. If you want to know who has won just send an email to rtwcompetition@staralliance.com which will be available after 31st October 2016 for 4 weeks.
These terms and conditions are governed by German Law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the German Courts.
