1) Who can enter the trivago WorldTrip Contest?
Anyone with Internet access, a Facebook account, and a valid email address. To get started, just like us on Facebook.
2) What is the trivago WorldTrip Contest?
The trivago WorldTrip Contest is an "enter to win" promotion on Facebook. To participate, like trivago on Facebook and click "Enter Now" in the app (http://worldtrip.trivago.com). Participants are encouraged to invite their friends to increase their own chances of winning. Each of your friends who accepts your invitation counts as an additional entry into the contest. The more friends you invite to enter, the better your chances are to win. If a friend receives multiple invitations, he can only accept the invitation from one friend. If the friend you invited accepts your invitation and wins a WorldTrip for two, you automatically win a separate WorldTrip for two. The promotion ends 01 June 2013 at 23.59 CET.
3) What is the prize?
The prize is an 80-day WorldTrip for two to 10 amazing, predetermined cities (London, Rome, Barcelona, Panama City, Las Vegas, Bangkok, Beruwala, Dubai, Sharm el-Sheik, and Marrakech). There will be two separate trivago WorldTrips given to the winner of the Contest and the friend who invited him to enter the Contest. The two winners can each bring a travel companion. Each prize consists of 80 nights of luxury hotel accommodations (double room with breakfast), flights for the winner and travel companion, and €50 per diem allowance per traveler. The WorldTrip must be completed by 31 December 2013.
4) How I can win the trivago WorldTrip?
First, like us on Facebook www.facebook.com/trivago. Then click "Enter Now" in the app (http://worldtrip.trivago.com). You have until 1 June at 23.59 CET to enter and invite your friends to enter to win the trivago WorldTrip. Participants are encouraged to invite their friends to increase their own chances of winning. Your friend must accept your invitation for it to count as an additional entry into the contest. If the friend you invited accepts your invitation and wins a WorldTrip for two, you automatically win a separate WorldTrip for two. You can keep track of how many friends accepted your invitation by looking at your invitation dashboard in the app. You can enter and invite friends until the end of the challenge (1 June 2013 at 23.59 CET).
5) If my friend wins a trivago WorldTrip, do I win one too?
Inviting your friends to play increases your own chances of winning. Participants are encouraged to invite as many friends as they want to increase their own chances of winning. Each of your friends who accepts your invitation counts as an additional entry into the contest. Your friend must accept your invitation for it to count as an additional entry into the contest. If the friend you invited accepts your invitation and wins a WorldTrip for two, you automatically win a separate WorldTrip for two.
6) Do I have to invite my friends to participate?
It is not a requirement to invite your friends to enter the Contest. However, keep in mind that the more friends you invite, the better your chances are of winning.
7) How can I tell if my friend accepted my invitation?
After you invite your friend to enter the trivago WorldTrip Contest, he will get a notification that you invited him to enter the Contest. If your friend accepts your invitation, your invitation dashboard in the app will update to reflect this. You can keep inviting friends until the end of the challenge (1 June 2013 at 23.59 CET).
8) What happens if my friends receive several invitations?
Your friends may receive several invitations to enter the WorldTrip Contest, but he can accept only one. If he accepts your invitation, he cannot accept another invitation from another user. You and your friend can keep inviting other friends for additional chances to win. If the friend you invited accepts your invitation and wins a WorldTrip for two, you automatically win a separate WorldTrip for two.
9) How many times I can play?
You can enter the Contest once, but you can invite friends to enter at any time before 1 June 2013 at 23.59 CET.
Prize
1) What is the prize?
There will be two trivago WorldTrip prizes awarded to the winner of the trivago WorldTrip and the friend who invited him. The two trivago WorldTrip winners will each win an 80-day WorldTrip to ten cities: London, Rome, Barcelona, Panama City (Panama), Las Vegas, Bangkok, Beruwala, Dubai, Sharm el-Sheikh, and Marrakech. Each WorldTrip includes around-the-world flight tickets for the winner and his travel companion, €50 per diem allowance per traveler, and luxury hotel accommodations for two (double room with breakfast). The winners can decide when they want to start the trip, but all travel must be completed by 31 December 2013. The route of the journey cannot be changed, and the winners stay 7 nights in each of the 10 cities. Please see the Terms & Conditions for more details.
2) Do I have to travel with the friend who invited me to enter the Contest?
No. You and the friend who invited you to enter each win a separate WorldTrip for two. You and your friend can each select a travel companion to bring on the separate WorldTrips. Therefore, you do not have to travel with the friend who invited you to enter the WorldTrip Contest.
3) If I win the prize, do I have to travel 80 consecutive days?
Yes. The trip cities, the route, and the hotels are predetermined. The journey must be completed by 31 December 2013. The winners must inform trivago of the date of the departure at least 4 weeks in advance. trivago will make the flight and hotel reservations for each of the travelers.
4) If I miss a flight or have travel problems, will trivago assist me?
trivago will manage the flight and hotel reservations for each of the travelers and will be in regular contact with the travelers. If you miss a flight or have problems with the hotel, we can assist you as best as we can. However, anything outside of the flight and hotel reservations are the sole responsibility of the winners and their travel companions.
5) How will trivago select the winners?
trivago will select the winner of the WorldTrip by a random selection process. The friend who invited the winner to enter the Contest automatically wins a trivago WorldTrip as well.
6) If I am selected as a winner, how do I reedem my prize?
If you are a winner, trivago will send you an email to the email address attached to your Facebook account you used when you entered the Contest. You will need to reply to our email and confirm that you accept the terms and conditions to claim the prize. must inform trivago of the date you wish to start your travel at least 4 weeks in advance. trivago will make your hotel and flight reservations.
7) Can I win even if I do not invite any friends to enter?
Yes, once you click "Enter Now" in the app (http://worldtrip.trivago.com) you receive one chance to win. You do not have to invite your friends to enter. However, keep in mind that the more friends you invite, the better your chances are of winning.
8) When will I know if I am the winner?
The Contest ends 1 June 2013 at 23.59 CET. We will select a winner on 3 June 2013 and notify the winners by email within 5 business days of the selection. Please make sure you enter a valid email address. If you are the winner, you must confirm your acceptance of the prize via email. If you are the winner, you must email your confirmation accepting the prize within 15 business days of when trivago notifies you.
9) If I win the trivago WorldTrip and cannot travel, can I have the cash equivalent of the trip?
No. Unfortunately the prize is non-transferable and cannot be substituted for cash.
10) What if I am ill or there are events beyond my control? Can I postpone the trivago WorldTrip?
Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis in instances of illness, death/illness of relatives, and force majeure or events beyond your control.
11) Will trivago assist me in obtaining the necessary visa to enter the countries in the trivago WorldTrip?
No. Each traveler is responsible for obtaining the necessary visas to enter each of the countries in the trivago WorldTrip.
12) Can I modify the trivago WorldTrip if I am the winner?
No. The trivago WorldTrip is a predetermined 80-day trip to ten cities: London, Rome, Barcelona, Panama City (Panama), Las Vegas, Bangkok, Beruwala, Dubai, Sharm el-Sheikh, and Marrakech. The route of the journey cannot be changed, and the winners stay 7 nights in each of the 10 cities.
Terms & Conditions
1. The following terms are applicable for the “trivago WorldTrip“ (the “Contest”), organized by trivago GmbH, Bennigsen-Platz 1, Germany. The Contest is promoted entirely on Facebook; however, Facebook does not sponsor, endorse, or administer this Contest In order to enter the Contest, you must agree to the Terms & Conditions and Contest Rules and all decisions made by trivago.
2. Any recourse to courts of law is excluded. The laws of the Federal Republic of Germany shall exclusively apply.
3. To enter the Contest, entrants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees and officers of trivago and the 10 hotels sponsored, including their immediate family members, are not eligible to enter the Contest.
4. The purchase of goods or services is not necessary to participate in the Contest. However, you must have a valid Facebook account and email address attached to that Facebook account at the time of entry in order to enter. Each person can enter only once using one Facebook account and one email address and must provide true and accurate information.
5. Any attempt to influence the results of the Contest, through software, scripts or any other form of manipulation that creates an unfair advantage in the Contest, is strictly prohibited and will result in disqualification. trivago retains the right to disqualify participants from the Contest in the event of manipulation, violation of the Terms & Conditions and Contest Rules, and for invalid or incomplete registration.

8. trivago will notify the winners of the trivagoWorldTrip within 5 business days of the random drawing. The winners will be notified by the email address they provided when entering the Contest. They must respond to the email and claim the prize within 15 days in order to claim the prize. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond back to the email and claim the prize within 15 days of, then that winner forfeits the prize. In the event that winner is disqualified for any reason, trivago will award an alternate winner by random drawing from the remaining eligible entries. trivago will also announce the winners on the official trivago Facebook page in the WorldTrip app. Any other mode of communication regarding the winners of the trivagoWorldTrip is not official, and therefore is not valid. Winners and travel companions are solely responsible for obtaining valid passports and any other documents necessary as required by applicable law for international travel.
9. The winners will be required to participate in marketing activities during the WorldTrip such as submitting hotel reviews and providing photos of the trip and other updates. trivago retains the right to revise any document created by the winner and to adapt it according to trivago’s needs and requirements . Examples of the marketing activities include (but are not limited to): a.Twitter: Tweet trip updates every day. Include a photo of their trip.
b.Facebook: Submit trip photos in a timely fashion to be uploaded onto the trivago’s Facebook page or trivago Blog.
c.trivago Blog: Write a weekly recap of your trip in each city. We will provide you with questions and suggested topics to help get you started.
d.Video Interviews: Interviews: Participate in short recaps or interviews during or after the trip.
10. trivago retains the right to stop or end the Contest at any time without prior notification. Reasons for ending the Contest could include, but are not limited to, unforeseen technical malfunctions, (e.g. virus attacking the computer system, manipulation or errors in hard- and or software), or any instance in which trivago is not able to correctly/accurately conduct the Contest. trivago reserves the right to exercise this option.
11. A liability of trivago or by our agents or assistants in performance – regardless of legal grounds – only applies if the damage is caused by a culpable breach of fundamental contract obligations or in case of intent or gross negligence. To the extent the breach of contract is unintentionally our liability for damages shall be limited to the typically predictable damage. Our liability for culpable damage to life, body or health as well as our liability under the Product Liability Act shall remain unaffected.
Privacy Policy
1. trivago observes the applicable regulations on the security of processing and use of personal datain accordance with the German BDSG and the TMG.
2. Participation in the Contest is only possible through a valid user account on Facebook. Therefore, the submission of personal data (first name, last name, address, and email address) to Facebook as well as trivago will be required to enter the Contest.
3. The personal data submitted is used solely for the purpose of executing this Contest and the distribution of the prizes. By participating, entrants explicitly agree to the collection and use of their personal data. Also, entrants agree to allow trivago to publish winners’ facebook account names on trivago’s Facebook or on the trivago website. No further personal data will be published by trivago on these websites.
4. Participants are entitled to withdraw their consent of the use of their personal data at any time. They must do so by sending an email to trivagoworldtrip@trivago.com.

The trivago WorldTrip: Prize Drawing
1. On 3rd June 2013, trivago will select a winner by random drawing for the trivago WorldTrip. One winner will be chosen at random. That winner will be awarded one 80-day trivago WorldTrip.
2. If the winner entered the Contest via accepting a friend’s invitation on Facebook, the second trivagoWorldTrip prize will be awarded to the friend who invited the first winner. If the first winner did not enter the Contest via a Facebook friend’s invitation, the second prize will be awarded by a second drawing. If the second drawing’s winner entered the Contest via accepting a friend’s invitation on Facebook, that friend who invited him will not win a WorldTrip.
3. Only eligible entrants who entered the Contest per the Terms and Conditions and Contest Rules will be included in the prize drawing.
4. All prize winners will be notified by e-mail within 5 business days from the draw, using the contact details provided when entering the Contest. They must respond to the email and claim the prize within 15 days in order to claim the prize. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond back to the email and claim the prize within 15 days of, then that winner forfeits the prize. In the event that winner is disqualified for any reason, trivago will award an alternate winner by random drawing from the remaining eligible entries.

The following is not included in these prizes: Additional meals outside of the breakfast included in the hotel stays, local transportation, Incidentals (including, but not limited to, travel documents, travel insurance, health insurance, and medical supplies), all other expenses not specified in the prize inclusion
Winners and travel companions are solely responsible for obtaining valid passports and any other documents necessary as required by applicable law for international travel.
Prize Winner Requirements

2. The 80-day trip must be taken in one consecutive period.
3. The winners must inform trivago of the date of the departure at least 4 weeks in advance.

5. If you miss a flight or have problems with the hotel, trivago will assist you as best as we can. However, anything outside of the flight and hotel reservations are the sole responsibility of the winners and their travel companions.
6. All prizes are non-transferable and there are no cash or credit substitutions.
7. Once travel documents are issued, travel arrangements cannot be changed. Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis in instances of certified illness, death/illness of relatives and force majeure or events beyond their control.
8. The trivago WorldTrip Partners reserve the right of expulsion of the prize winners if winners or their travel companions engage in any inappropriate, illegal or immoral behavior, including but not limited to use of excessive alcohol, artificial stimulants or illegal drugs, or act in any manner which brings trivago and its WorldTrip Partners or any person or organization involved in the Contest into public disrepute.
9. Each winner will be required to participate in marketing materials designated by trivago.
10. trivago reserves the right to change the hotel in the same destination any time prior to booking.
11. trivago reserves the right to change the order of the 10 destinations in the route any time prior to booking.
12. trivago reserves the right to start the journey according to the location of the traveler.
13. trivago reserves the right to change the destinations of the 80-day trip prizes any time prior to the entry period.
