Following are the terms and conditions for the "Wanted: a bad photographer" campaign.

1. Definitions
“Applicant” or “Participant”
Means any individual who submits, attempts to submit, or is considered for participation in the Contest.
“Application”
Means the complete set of materials submitted by a Participant as part of entering the Contest, including the online form, declarations, and all Uploaded or Submitted Materials.
“Business Days”
Means any weekday on which Icelandair operations are open in Iceland, excluding public holidays.
“Contest”
Means Icelandair’s promotional campaign titled “Wanted: a bad photographer”, including all related marketing activities, application processes, evaluations, communications, and prize related events.
“Contractor Agreement”
Means the separate written agreement entered into between Icelandair and the Winner as a condition of accepting the Prize and participating in filming, photography, and other marketing activities, as referenced in Article 10.
“Eligibility Requirements”
Means the requirements set out in Article 4 that Applicants must satisfy to participate in the Contest. This includes amateur photographer status, age, travel authorization, criminal record requirements, and physical capability.
“Force Majeure Event”
Has the meaning set out in the Force Majeure clause and includes events beyond Icelandair’s reasonable control such as natural disasters, pandemics, strikes, and government restrictions.
“Icelandair”
Means Icelandair ehf., a company incorporated and existing under the laws of Iceland, with registered address at Flugvellir 1, 221 Hafnarfjörður, Iceland, including its affiliates, employees, representatives, marketing agencies, subcontractors, and authorized partners.
“Interpretation Rule”
Any reference to “including,” “include,” or “for example” shall be interpreted as “including without limitation.” Words in the singular include the plural and vice versa, and any reference to gender includes all genders.
“Marketing Activities”
Means the filming, photography, guided experiences, interviews, testimonials, content creation sessions, and other promotional interactions the Winner may be required to participate in during the Prize trip, as described in Article 12.
“Misconduct”
Means any behavior prohibited under the Fraud, Tampering, and Fair Play article, including fraud, dishonesty, unsafe behavior, harassment, excessive alcohol consumption, illegal substance use, or any conduct that could damage Icelandair’s reputation.
“Prize”
Means the trip to Iceland awarded to the Winner, including flights, accommodation, transportation, activities, and fixed fee payment (ISK), subject to change or substitution as provided in these Terms.
“Privacy Policy”
Means Icelandair’s Employee and Applicant Privacy Policy referenced in Article 16, which governs the processing of personal data under the GDPR.
“Submitted Materials”
Means all photographs, videos, captions, written statements, descriptions, artworks, or any other content provided by the Participant as part of the Application.
“Terms” or “Terms & Conditions”
Means this agreement governing participation in the Contest, as may be updated or amended by Icelandair at its sole discretion.
“Trip Content”
Means all photos, videos, audio recordings, interviews, footage, creative material, likenesses, and other content generated or captured during the Prize trip, whether by Icelandair, the Winner, contractors, or third parties acting on Icelandair’s behalf.
“Winner”
Means the Participant selected by Icelandair to receive the Prize, subject to compliance with all verification, eligibility, behavioral, and ongoing obligations under these Terms.
2. Organizer
2.1 The Contest is organized by Icelandair ehf., a company incorporated and existing under the laws of Iceland, with its registered address at:

2.2 For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”) and any applicable national data protection legislation, Icelandair ehf. acts as the data controller in relation to all personal data processed in connection with the Contest, including personal data submitted by Applicants and personal data generated as part of the administration of the Contest and the fulfillment of the Prize.
2.3 As data controller, Icelandair determines the purposes and means of processing personal data collected through the Application process, during the evaluation of Participants, and throughout the Prize trip. All processing is carried out in accordance with Icelandair’s applicable privacy notices, internal data protection policies, and relevant data protection laws.
2.4 Where Icelandair uses third‑party service providers (such as marketing agencies, production teams, travel partners, or digital platforms) for the administration of the Contest or creation of Trip Content, such providers act as data processors on behalf of Icelandair and are bound by appropriate data processing agreements as required by GDPR.
3. Contest Period
The Contest runs from 18th of March to 30th of April 2026. Icelandair may change these dates at its discretion.
4. Eligibility
4.1 Amateur Photographers Only
Applicants must be amateur photographers.
By submitting an Application, each Applicant warrants that:
• They have never received payment, compensation, or other professional consideration for any photographic work;
• They do not operate, advertise, or present themselves as a professional photographer;
• Their participation does not violate any contractual, employment, or licensing restrictions.
4.2 Minimum Age Requirement
Applicants must be 21 years of age or older at the time of submitting the Application.
Icelandair may require proof of age before confirming Winner status.
4.3 Valid Passport and Travel Authorization
Applicants must:
• Hold a valid passport that will remain valid for the full duration of the Prize trip and any required buffer period under applicable immigration rules;
• Be legally authorized to travel to and enter Iceland at the time of Application and at the time of travel;
• Meet all applicable visa, entry, transit, or health requirements imposed by Icelandic authorities or any relevant jurisdiction.
Applicants acknowledge that Icelandair does not assume responsibility for verifying travel eligibility and may disqualify any Applicant or Winner who fails to meet travel requirements.
4.4 Health, Physical and Mental Capability
Applicants must be physically and mentally capable of participating in the activities associated with the Prize trip, including travel, outdoor activities, and hiking, without requiring the disclosure of any medical data.
By accepting the Prize, the Winner confirms they satisfy these requirements.
4.5 Criminal Record and Legal Standing
Applicants must warrant that they:
• Have a clean criminal record;
• Are not under investigation, awaiting trial, sentencing, or judgment in any penal matter;
• Are not wanted by law enforcement and are not evading legal proceedings;
• Are not listed on any no‑fly list, sanctions list, terrorism‑related list, or any other travel‑restriction registry;
• Are not involved in any conduct that could result in reputational harm to Icelandair.
Failure to meet these requirements may result in immediate disqualification or termination of Winner status.
4.6 Compliance With These Terms
Applicants must comply with these Terms & Conditions in full.
Any misrepresentation, omission, or breach of warranty may result in disqualification at any stage.
4.7 One Entry Per Person
Unless explicitly permitted by Icelandair in writing, only one entry per Applicant is allowed.
6. How to Enter
To enter the Contest, Applicants must submit a complete Application exclusively through the official application form available on Icelandair’s website or designated campaign landing page. All required fields in the form must be filled out truthfully and accurately, and each Applicant can upload one (1) video audition recording establishing the Applicant’s credentials and why he/she would be suited to participate in the campaign. Only Applications submitted through the official form with all required information will be considered. Icelandair is not responsible for incomplete submissions, failed uploads, or technical errors, and once submitted, Applications cannot be withdrawn, supplemented, or modified.
7. Selection of Winner
The Winner will be selected solely at the discretion of Icelandair’s Marketing Team, based on the Submitted Materials and the overall alignment of the Application with the Contest concept. Icelandair’s decision is final and not subject to review, appeal, or correspondence.
8. Winner Notification and Communication Rules
Winner will be contacted via provided information; failure to respond may lead to replacement.
9. Prize
The Prize consists of a trip to Iceland provided by Icelandair. The Prize includes:
• Round‑trip flights on Icelandair in Economy Class between the Winner’s closest Icelandair‑served departure point and Iceland.
• Accommodation for the duration of the Prize trip selected by Icelandair.
• Ground transportation, including transportation to and from Keflavík International Airport and any additional transportation expressly included in Icelandair’s planned itinerary for the Prize trip.
• A fixed‑fee payment, paid in Icelandic króna (ISK), intended to cover incidental personal expenses during the trip, royalties and copyrights. The amount and payment method of this allowance are determined solely by Icelandair.
The exact travel dates, accommodation arrangements, itinerary, duration of stay, and allowance amount are determined exclusively by Icelandair and may be adjusted at Icelandair’s discretion. The Prize is non‑transferable, has no cash alternative, and cannot be exchanged for any other product or service unless Icelandair decides otherwise.
10. Contractor Agreement
10.1 Requirement to Enter into Contractor Agreement
As a condition of accepting the Prize and participating in the Prize trip, the Winner acknowledges and agrees that Icelandair and the Winner will enter into a separate written contractor agreement (“Contractor Agreement”). This agreement will govern the Winner’s participation in filming, photography, interviews, content creation activities, promotional tasks, and other activities performed as part of Icelandair’s marketing campaign.
10.2 Scope and Purpose of the Contractor Agreement
The Contractor Agreement will set out, among other things, the scope of the Winner’s participation, required deliverables (if any), rights and responsibilities of the parties, confidentiality provisions, compensation structure (if applicable), and any additional legal terms necessary to support Icelandair’s marketing and production activities.
10.3 No Employment, Partnership, or Shareholder Relationship
Nothing in these Terms & Conditions, the Contractor Agreement, or the Winner’s participation in the Prize trip shall be construed as creating any employment relationship, agency, partnership, joint venture, fiduciary relationship, or shareholder status between the Winner and Icelandair.
The Winner participates strictly as an independent contractor for the limited purposes set out in the Contractor Agreement. The Winner shall not be entitled to any salary, employee benefits, pension rights, insurance coverage, holiday pay, workers’ rights, equity, voting rights, or any other privileges associated with employment or ownership.
The Winner acknowledges that they have no authority to act on behalf of Icelandair, bind Icelandair, or represent Icelandair in any capacity except as expressly outlined in the Contractor Agreement.
10.4 Condition Precedent to Prize Acceptance
The Winner’s acceptance of the Prize is expressly conditional on the Winner signing the Contractor Agreement. If the Winner refuses or fails to sign the Contractor Agreement within the time period specified by Icelandair, Icelandair may, at its sole discretion, revoke the Prize and select an alternative winner without liability.
10.5 Relationship Between These Terms and the Contractor Agreement
In the event of any inconsistency or conflict between these Terms & Conditions and the Contractor Agreement, the terms of the Contractor Agreement shall govern with respect to the Winner’s obligations during the Prize trip and in relation to all marketing and content creation activities. These Terms & Conditions shall continue to govern all other aspects of the Contest.
11. Prize Substitution
Icelandair may substitute prize with equal or greater value.
12. Taxes and Additional Costs
Icelandair will cover all airport taxes, air‑transportation‑related fees, and charges directly tied to the Winner’s Icelandair flight ticket. All other taxes, duties, fees, or levies incurred during the Prize trip, including but not limited to value added tax (VAT), local service fees, tourism taxes, or any other government‑imposed charges, shall be borne exclusively by the Winner.
Each Participant is solely responsible for all costs related to their participation in the Contest, including, without limitation:
• Costs of preparing and submitting the Application;
• Obtaining legal or professional advice;
• Securing travel documentation (such as visas, entry authorizations, passport renewals, or supporting documents);
• Any technology, devices, or data needed to submit the Application.
Except for the elements expressly included in the Prize (as outlined in Article 9), all other expenses remain the sole responsibility of the Winner, including but not limited to meals outside of the provided itinerary, personal purchases, optional activities, and any expenses not included in the Prize.
13. Rights to Submitted Materials, Trip Content, and Marketing Usage
13.1 License to use submitted Materials
By submitting an Application, all Applicants grant Icelandair an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty‑free, fully transferable and sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, edit, adapt, publish, distribute, publicly display, publicly perform, translate, store, archive, and create derivative works from all Submitted Materials for any lawful purpose. This includes, without limitation, marketing, promotional, editorial, PR activity, advertising, social media, internal communications, and brand storytelling.
13.2 Rights to Capture and Use Trip Content
The Winner acknowledges that Icelandair will record, film, photograph, interview, document, and otherwise create content throughout the Prize trip. Icelandair retains the unrestricted right to produce, own, and use all Trip Content in full or in part, including the Winner’s name, likeness, voice, statements, biography, performance, reactions, and any materials created during the trip.
13.3 Marketing and Promotional Use
Icelandair may use Submitted Materials and Trip Content in any media format, whether now known or later developed, including digital, print, broadcast, PR activity, social media, outdoor advertising, cinema, streaming platforms, or third‑party media partners. Icelandair may use the materials in any jurisdiction worldwide, for an unlimited duration, with no obligation to notify, credit, or compensate the Applicant or Winner.
13.4 Creative Control and Editorial Rights
All creative control rests exclusively with Icelandair. Icelandair may freely determine the tone, narrative, editing style, presentation, and context of any marketing materials derived from Submitted Materials or Trip Content. The Winner acknowledges that the content may be edited, stylised, rearranged, dramatised, or combined with other materials at Icelandair’s discretion.
13.5 Winner Participation in Marketing Activities
As an integral part of the Contest and Prize trip, the Winner agrees to participate in reasonable marketing‑related activities, which may include filming sessions, photography sessions, guided experiences, interviews, testimonial recordings, or other promotional interactions. Such activities will be planned by Icelandair and conducted at reasonable times during the Prize trip. Icelandair may, at its discretion, invite the Winner to participate in additional events, promotional activities, appearances, or further travel following the Prize trip. Any such participation will be entirely voluntary and, where applicable, will be governed by the terms of the Contractor Agreement referenced in Article 10.
No Applicant or Winner shall be deemed obliged to participate in any such additional events unless expressly agreed in writing, and nothing in this clause shall create any form of employment, partnership, or ongoing service relationship with Icelandair.
13.6 Intellectual Property Ownership
All Trip Content captured by Icelandair, or by third parties on its behalf, shall be the exclusive property of Icelandair, including all copyrights, derivative rights, and exploitation rights. Any copyright in Submitted Materials is licensed to Icelandair on the terms set above, and Applicants waive any “moral rights” or equivalent rights to object to Icelandair’s use, where legally permitted.
13.7 No Right to Review or Approve
Applicants and the Winner expressly waive any right to review, approve, or supervise the use, publication, or distribution of Submitted Materials or Trip Content. Icelandair has no obligation to use any material, nor to use it in any particular manner.
13.8 Warranties Regarding Rights and Permissions
Applicants warrant that: - They are the sole creators and rights holders of the Submitted Materials; - The Submitted Materials do not infringe any third‑party rights; - No additional approvals, licenses, payments, or consents are required for Icelandair to use the materials as described. Applicants agree to indemnify Icelandair for any claims arising from their breach of these warranties.
13.9 Withdrawal of Consent Not Permitted
Due to the nature and purpose of the Contest and its associated marketing campaign, Applicants and the Winner acknowledge that consent to use Submitted Materials and Trip Content cannot be revoked, and no request for removal, takedown, limitation, or restriction of use will be honored. Applicants grant Icelandair irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide rights to use Submitted Materials and Trip Content for marketing.
14. Physical Participation Requirements
The Prize trip involves travel and outdoor activities that require a basic level of physical capability. By participating in the Contest and, if selected, accepting the Prize, the Winner confirms and warrants that they:
• Are able to travel internationally and participate fully in the planned itinerary;
• Can walk, stand, hike, or move across uneven terrain, including natural environments such as trails, beaches, cliffs, and other outdoor locations;
• Can spend extended periods outdoors, potentially in changing or adverse weather conditions;
• Can sit for prolonged periods in vehicles, aircraft, or other modes of transportation;
• Can participate in filming, photography, and other content‑creation activities without risk to their own health or safety.
The Winner is not required to disclose any medical or health information, and Icelandair will not request or collect medical data. The Winner is solely responsible for assessing whether they can safely undertake all activities associated with the Prize trip and should consider seeking independent advice if unsure.
Icelandair reserves the right, in the interest of safety and operational feasibility, to determine whether the Winner can reasonably participate in the activities planned for the Prize trip. If Icelandair determines that participation is unsafe, impossible, or incompatible with the campaign’s requirements, Icelandair may revoke or replace the Winner in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
15. Winner Insurance Requirements
The Winner is required to obtain and maintain adequate personal travel insurance for the entire duration of the Prize trip. Such insurance must provide coverage that is appropriate for a trip of this nature, including, at a minimum:
• Emergency medical treatment and hospitalization;
• Medical evacuation and repatriation;
• Personal accident and injury coverage;
• Coverage for outdoor activities reasonably expected during the Prize trip (including hiking, light physical activity, and exposure to natural environments);
• Loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings and equipment;
• Trip interruption or similar travel‑related contingencies.
The Winner is solely responsible for ensuring that their insurance is valid, comprehensive, and adequate for all planned and reasonably foreseeable activities. Upon Icelandair’s request, the Winner must promptly provide a copy of the insurance certificate or other satisfactory proof of coverage. Failure to obtain adequate coverage, or failure to provide proof of coverage when requested, may result in immediate disqualification, revocation of the Prize, and selection of an alternative winner in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.
16. Personal Data and Privacy
16.1 By participating in the Contest, Applicants acknowledge that Icelandair will process their personal data for purposes including administering the Contest, evaluating Applications, contacting Participants, selecting the Winner, managing the Prize trip, producing marketing content, and fulfilling any legal obligations.
16.2 All personal data processed in connection with the Contest is governed by Icelandair’s Employee and Applicant Privacy Policy, which applies to all Applicants and the Winner. The Policy explains the categories of personal data collected, the purposes and legal bases for processing, data retention periods, data subject rights under the GDPR, and Icelandair’s obligations as a data controller. 16.3 In addition to the Privacy Policy, Applicants acknowledge that certain additional processing rules contained in these Terms & Conditions may also apply. These additional rules include, but are not limited to, provisions relating to: - The creation and use of Trip Content for marketing purposes; - The Winner’s participation in content‑creation activities; - The unrestricted right of Icelandair to use Submitted Materials and Trip Content in accordance with Article 12.
16.4 In the event of any discrepancy or conflict between Icelandair’s Privacy Policy and these Terms & Conditions as they relate to the Contest, the provisions of these Terms & Conditions shall prevail to the extent permitted by applicable data protection law.
16.5 Icelandair will ensure that any third‑party service providers engaged for the administration of the Contest or the production of marketing materials act as data processors under appropriate GDPR‑compliant contractual terms.
17. Applicant Warranties
17.1 Compliance With Eligibility Requirements
The Applicant fully satisfies all eligibility requirements set out in Article 4, including amateur status, age, passport validity, legal authorization to travel, physical capability, and criminal/legal standing.
17.2 Truthfulness and Accuracy
All information submitted as part of the Application is true, accurate, complete, and not misleading.
The Applicant has not omitted any material information that would reasonably affect Icelandair’s assessment or the Applicant’s eligibility.
17.3 Ownership and Rights of Use
The Applicant is the sole creator and rights holder of all Submitted Materials and has full authority to grant Icelandair the rights described in Article 13.
Submitted Materials do not infringe any copyright, privacy rights, trademarks, moral rights, or other third party rights.
17.4 No Conflicts or Breaches
Participation in the Contest and acceptance of the Prize does not violate any contract, employment obligation, exclusivity clause, or other legal restriction binding the Applicant.
17.5 Behavior, Conduct, and Cooperation
The Applicant agrees to behave in a responsible, lawful, and non-disruptive manner throughout the Contest.
The Winner agrees to cooperate reasonably with Icelandair during the Prize trip, including during recording and content creation activities.
17.6 Fitness and Safety Responsibility
The Applicant confirms they are physically and mentally capable of participating safely in the Prize trip activities without requiring medical disclosure to Icelandair.
The Applicant accepts full responsibility for assessing their own suitability for participation.
17.7 Insurance Compliance
The Winner warrants that they will obtain adequate travel insurance in accordance with Article 15 and will provide proof of coverage upon request.
17.8 No Misrepresentation
Any falsification, misrepresentation, or failure to meet these warranties may result in immediate disqualification, removal as Winner, and the obligation to indemnify Icelandair in accordance with Article 20.
18. Fraud, Tampering, and Fair Play
18.1 Fair Participation Requirement
All Applicants must participate in the Contest fairly, honestly, and in good faith. Any attempt to manipulate, distort, or unfairly influence the outcome of the Contest is strictly prohibited.
18.2 Prohibited Conduct
Without limitation, the following conduct is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification or termination of Winner status:
• Submitting false, misleading, or fabricated information;
• Submitting photos that are not the Applicant’s own original work;
• Use of AI generated, manipulated, or plagiarized images;
• Uploading content created by another person or copied from the internet;
• Attempting to interfere with the submission system, including hacking, automated scripts, or mass entry tools;
• Tampering with, altering, or attempting to alter any aspect of the Contest’s technical systems;
• Harassing or abusing Icelandair staff, partners, contractors, or other Applicants;
• Attempting to influence Icelandair’s staff, Marketing Team, or third party partners involved in the Contest;
• Any conduct that Icelandair reasonably determines to be dishonest, unethical, harmful, or contrary to the spirit of the Contest.
Applicants and the Winner must conduct themselves in a responsible, safe, and respectful manner throughout their participation in the Contest and, if selected, during the Prize trip. The following conduct is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate disqualification, revocation of Winner status, removal from the Prize trip, or other actions at Icelandair’s sole discretion:
• Excessive alcohol consumption, including intoxication that impairs judgment, safety, cooperation, or the ability to participate in campaign activities;
• Use, possession, or influence of illegal drugs, controlled substances, or any intoxicating substances not legally prescribed to the participant;
• Abuse of legally permitted substances or prescription medication in a manner inconsistent with safe and lawful use;
• Any behaviour that endangers the Participant, Icelandair personnel, third parties, or the filming/production team;
• Conduct that causes, or could reasonably cause, reputational harm to Icelandair, its partners, or the Contest.
19. Icelandair Rights
19.1 Right to Investigate and Verify
Icelandair reserves the right to verify the identity, eligibility, and compliance of any Applicant at any stage. This includes the right to request evidence of authorship of Submitted Materials, proof of identity, or any supporting documentation required to ensure Contest integrity.
19.2 Consequences of Breach
If Icelandair, at its sole discretion, determines that an Applicant or Winner has engaged in fraud, tampering, misconduct, or any prohibited behaviour, Icelandair may:
• Immediately disqualify the Applicant;
• Revoke the Winner’s status;
• Select an alternative Winner;
• Require the terminated Winner to indemnify Icelandair for all resulting costs in accordance with Article 20;
• Report suspected unlawful behaviour to the appropriate authorities.
19.3 Finality of Icelandair’s Decisions
Icelandair’s determination regarding any suspected fraud, misconduct, or tampering is final, binding, and not subject to review or appeal.
Icelandair may modify or cancel the Contest.
20. Indemnification by Disqualified or Terminated Winner
20.1 Indemnification Obligation
If a Winner is disqualified or their Prize is revoked or terminated for any reason set out in these Terms & Conditions — including but not limited to breach of eligibility requirements, fraud, misconduct, substance abuse, falsified information, safety concerns, reputational risk, or failure to comply with Icelandair’s reasonable instructions — the disqualified or terminated Winner shall fully indemnify, defend, and hold Icelandair harmless from all losses, costs, expenses, liabilities, and damages arising directly or indirectly from such disqualification or termination.
20.2 Scope of Costs Covered
The indemnification obligation includes, without limitation:
• Costs of flights, accommodation, transportation, or itinerary elements already purchased or reserved;
• Production, filming, photography, and content‑creation costs affected by the Winner’s termination;
• Staff time, crew time, per‑diem expenses, contractor or agency fees;
• Replacement Winner selection, onboarding, and filming costs;
• Legal fees, administrative fees, and professional service costs;
• Compensation or penalties owed to third‑party suppliers due to changes or cancellations;
• Reputational, commercial, or brand damage resulting from the Winner’s conduct;
• Any additional expenses Icelandair reasonably incurs to continue, adjust, or salvage the marketing campaign.
20.3 Immediate Payment Requirement
Upon receiving written notice from Icelandair, the disqualified or terminated Winner must reimburse Icelandair immediately for all amounts due under this Article. Icelandair may issue invoices, summaries of costs, or other reasonable documentation to establish the amount owed, and such documentation shall be considered sufficient evidence of the costs incurred.
20.4 No Limitation of Liability
The disqualified or terminated Winner’s indemnification obligations under this Article are not subject to any cap, limitation, or restriction, and survive the termination of their participation in the Contest.
20.5 Right to Seek Additional Remedies
Icelandair retains the right to seek any additional remedies available under applicable law, including but not limited to claims for damages, injunctive relief, and recovery of consequential losses if the Winner’s conduct has caused widespread or long‑term harm.
20.6 Grounds for Indemnification
Grounds for indemnification expressly include — but are not limited to:
• Submission of false or misleading information in the Application;
• Failure to meet any eligibility requirement in Article 4;
• Criminal or reputational issues discovered after selection;
• Excessive alcohol use, illegal substance use, or unsafe behavior;
• Failure to comply with filming, marketing, or itinerary requirements;
• Refusal or failure to provide insurance documentation when requested;
• Failure to meet travel authorization requirements;
• Conduct that disrupts production, compromises safety, or undermines the campaign;
• Any breach of warranties in Article 16.
20.7 Alternative Winner and Continuity of Campaign
If Icelandair selects an alternative Winner due to disqualification or termination, all additional costs associated with such replacement shall be included in the disqualified Winner’s indemnification obligation. Winner must indemnify Icelandair for costs arising from termination.
21 Force Majeure
Icelandair shall not be liable for any failure to perform, delay in performing, or partial performance of its obligations under these Terms & Conditions where such failure or delay is caused, directly or indirectly, by a Force Majeure Event. For the purposes of this Contest, a Force Majeure Event includes, but is not limited to:
• Acts of God, natural disasters, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods, storms, or extreme weather;
• Fires, explosions, power outages, or infrastructure failures;
• War, terrorism, civil unrest, riots, sabotage, or malicious damage;
• Epidemics, pandemics, public health emergencies, or governmental restrictions related thereto;
• Strikes, lockouts, industrial disputes, labor shortages, or service disruptions beyond Icelandair’s control;
• Government regulations, travel bans, border closures, customs delays, or changes in law affecting travel or production;
• Airline industry disruptions, including airspace closures, airport shutdowns, flight restrictions, or safety related operational decisions;
• Any other cause beyond the reasonable control of Icelandair.
In the event of a Force Majeure Event, Icelandair may, at its sole discretion:
• Modify, postpone, or cancel any part of the Contest or Prize trip;
• Adjust itineraries, schedules, or campaign activities;
• Replace elements of the Prize with alternatives of comparable value;
• Select a new Winner if the original Winner cannot safely or lawfully participate; or
• Take any other reasonable action necessary to protect participants, staff, and the integrity of the Contest.
Icelandair shall not be liable for any loss, damage, cost, or inconvenience suffered by Applicants or the Winner due to a Force Majeure Event. No compensation or replacement shall be required unless expressly stated otherwise by Icelandair.
22. Liability
22.1 To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Icelandair shall not be liable to any Applicant or Winner for any loss, damage, injury, cost, or expense arising out of or in connection with the Contest, the Application process, the selection or replacement of a Winner, the Prize trip, or any marketing or content creation activities — except where such loss results directly from Icelandair’s gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
22.2 Without limiting the generality of the above, Icelandair shall not be liable for:
• Personal injury, illness, property damage, or financial loss incurred during travel, outdoor activities, filming, or any part of the Prize trip;
• Delays, cancellations, itinerary changes, or disruptions to transportation or accommodation arrangements;
• Technical issues affecting submission of Applications, including failed uploads, connectivity problems, or corrupted files;
• The conduct, acts, or omissions of third party suppliers, contractors, or service providers involved in travel, accommodation, production, or campaign execution;
• Reputational, emotional, or consequential damages, including disappointment, inconvenience, lost opportunity, or loss of expected benefit;
• Any loss arising from the Applicant’s or Winner’s breach of these Terms, including failure to meet eligibility requirements, insurance obligations, or behavioral expectations.
22.3 All Participants acknowledge that participation in the Contest and the Prize trip involves inherent risks associated with travel and outdoor activities. Applicants and Winners participate voluntarily and at their own risk.
22.4 Nothing in these Terms shall exclude or limit Icelandair’s liability for:
• Gross negligence;
• Wilful intention or wilful misconduct;
• Any liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory applicable law.
22.5 In all other cases, Icelandair’s total cumulative liability to any Applicant or Winner shall, to the extent permitted by law, be limited to the actual value of the fixed fee allowance paid as part of the Prize (if any).

Icelandair will review all properly submitted complaints in good faith; however, nothing in this clause shall obligate Icelandair to reconsider, revise, or overturn any decision made in accordance with these Terms & Conditions.

24. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms & Conditions, the Contest, and any dispute or claim arising out of or relating to them, the Application process, the selection or disqualification of any Participant or Winner, the Prize trip, or any related marketing activities shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Iceland, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
Any dispute, controversy, or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the District Court of Reykjanes (Héraðsdómur Reykjanes).
Participants irrevocably submit to the jurisdiction of these courts and waive any objection to proceedings being brought in such courts, including objections based on inconvenience or alternative forums.
Nothing in this Article shall limit Icelandair’s right to seek injunctive or equitable relief in any jurisdiction where such relief is necessary to protect Icelandair’s rights, intellectual property, or reputation.
